Charity number: 218985
The Charity of Thomas Barton is a local charity that spends its income from an endowment fund to benefit the residents of Stoke Golding in Leicestershire. Most often this is achieved by financially supporting local voluntary organisations allowing them to provide benefits to the local community.
Specifically our Charity Charter says that:
"The Charity of Thomas Barton applies its income for any charitable purpose for the general benefit of the residents of Stoke Golding, where provision is not made out of rates, taxes, or other public funds.”
Thanks to careful investment and management over many years, the Charity now boasts a significant endowment fund. It uses the interest from this fund to support a wide range of organisations and projects within Stoke Golding. Over the last 5 years the Charity has funded projects to a total in excess of £85,000
Information about the history of the charity and its management can be found on our About page. Available grants including guidance for applicants and a downloadable application form can be found on our Grants page where you will also find information about recent projects.
We have awarded a number more grants recently to local organisations:
- Stoke Golding Toddler Group for sensory equipment
- St Margarets and Methodists churches for their flower festivals
- St Margarets School for Ukelele lessons for year 3
- St Martins Academy tables for their library refurbishment
- The Baxter Hall Charity to rebuild the front boundary walls
These projects will deliver benefits to the Stoke Golding community and we are delighted to be able to support them.
